About Vannya Kutir

Welcome to the place of peace “Vannya Kutir”- the Day out Picnic spot. The name “Vannya” came from the word “Vanya”. This means gracious gift of God. In our Indian village culture, nature is seen as repository of the signs of God. The beauty of nature is God’s gift to all of us. When we are tired or stressful, nature’s beauty brings us peace and comfort to us. From that point of view, we have tried to represent the beauty of Indian village cultures as Vanny Kutir. We have tried to focus on the Folk culture of different district of Bengal like Purilia , Birbhum, Bakura, Burdwan etc so that our next generation will get close to our Folk culture. We have tried to exhibit music like Baul, Bhadu, Tusu, Jhumur and dance like Chhau, painting like Patashilpa, Sora chitra, art like Alpana, instruments like Bansuri, Aktara, Maddale, Dotara, Folk handmade like bamboo crafts, straw house. We have tried to bring the Villages traditional food items to people which includes fresh Fish, Kasha Mansha homemade Pitha, Payesh etc. Even we maintain traditional wear that also gives us the vibes of village culture.
